This month meet: Jaci Bitner, Manager of Shared Services
Name: Jaci Bitner
What’s your role: Manager of Shared Services
How long have you been employed at Greystone Technology: 1 year
What made you initially want to work here, and what makes you want to stay:
“Prior to this opportunity, I had stepped away from the IT industry for a bit, however, I have an extensive background working within IT, specifically at Managed Service Providers like Greystone Technology, and I was looking to get back into the industry.”
“As I started looking for that opportunity I kept coming across Greystone Technology. Not only did people who work here or have worked here have a ton of positive things to say about what it is like to work here, but I also really felt that Greystone’s values aligned with some of my personal values like inclusivity and work-life balance and that was important to me.”
“As for why I stay it comes down to the people that I get to work with on a daily basis and the opportunities to help those people grow in their careers and technical skills! That combined with the fact that I really do have the ability to be a leader at Greystone with directed autonomy, and work-life balance is truly valued here not just talked about.”
Tell us about a time when you worked hard to understand a client’s unique needs and went above and beyond their expectations:
“We built and evolved shared services to better serve our clients. It provides faster support and more flexibility to make sure they are having an effortless experience”
What’s the most rewarding part of your job: “Seeing the people on my team grow and get promoted within the company, I love being able to help a person sharpen their technical skills and progress in their career.”
When you think of Greystone’s culture, what 3 words come to mind: “I am not sure I can limit it to just three so here are five words that I think describe Greystone’s culture: Inclusive, Collaborative, Empathetic, Autonomous, Empowered”
What are some of your hobbies outside of work: “I love reading! Fiction or Non-Fiction if it’s a good book I want to read it, I also enjoy crafts like knitting and embroidery and even do custom embroidery pieces for people. I also enjoy roller skating and I used to be on a roller derby team!”
Tell us one interesting fact about yourself: “One time my roller derby team had an event the same night as a WWE event and John Cena came to watch our event. Somehow he ended up backstage with the team and ended up coming to the after-party we were having so NBD or anything but I went to a roller derby after-party with John Cena.”
