Greystone by the Numbers-November 2015

Greystone by the Numbers is an admittedly convoluted way to introduce you to another side of our team! These brief “interviews” begin by putting everyone’s name in a numbered list and a number randomizer is used to pick 3 “chosen ones” each month.  After those 3 have been chosen, they select 5 numbers from 1 to 67, each corresponding to a question which was unbeknownst to them.  What happens next…is for your reading pleasure.

Rameez Lalani, Support Tech

If you were going to do karaoke tonight, what song would you sing?

Fight for your right to party! – Beastie BoysRameez

What is the unhealthiest thing you have eaten?

Cheese burger from McD’s w/ a hot and spicy chicken patty or two thrown in there.

Would you rather have the only computer you use be an Atari 2600 or have all of your emails sent out, unknown to you, to your entire address book?

That’s a tough one – I’ll go w/ the Atari as long as I can keep using my smartphone.

What are 3 things you cannot live without?

Hot Showers, Music, and my family/friends

What single piece of technology makes your life easier?

Wireless charger for my S6, it’s so nice to sit on my desk and just drop my phone on the pad and pick it up when I need, very convenient!

Travis Hankins, Director of Professional Services

If you owned a luxuryTravisHanky2 yacht, what would you name it?

One luxury yacht?  I think not…I would have 3 and they would be called The Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria

What is the unhealthiest thing that you have eaten?

This one time I ate at McDonalds…true story.

Describe your life with a movie title.

Mean Girls.

What song typifies the 80’s?

Pour Some Sugar on Me

Who taught you to drive?

I grew up in the South.  No one teaches you how to drive down there…you just know how to.

Corbin Madix, IT ConsultantCorbin

What would be the hardest thing for you to give up?

Playing PC games. I’ve been a big PC Gamer for virtually my whole life, I couldn’t see myself ever giving that up, but I suppose stranger things have happened!

If you had a ton of money how would it corrupt you?

I don’t really see money as an end in itself, so I honestly don’t think it would corrupt me. Perhaps it would give me more expensive taste I suppose, but that’s not exactly corruption haha.

What technology do you wish you understood better?

Artificial Intelligence. I know as a field it’s only just begun being studied, but I wish I had more knowledge in that area. That’s where a lot of technology focus is going to be in the next 20 years, I believe.

Who is someone you really admire?

Jonathan Toews, a really good hockey player and captain for the Chicago Blackhawks. He knows how to stay calm under pressure, defends his teammates even if it means he’s got to get in a fight, and knows how to put the biscuit in the basket, light the lamp, or tickle the twine (he scores a lot of goals).

What do you miss from your childhood?

Hanging out with my closest friends. We all live far away from each other now and stay in touch over the internet. Back in my childhood days we all lived down the street from each other!
