This month meet Michael Catalfano, Director of managed services for Northern Colorado and New Jersey.

What’s your role: Director of managed services for Northern Colorado and New Jersey

How long have you been employed at Greystone Technology: 3.5 years

What made you initially want to work here, and what makes you want to stay: “For a variety of reasons, I was looking to move on to the next chapter of my career. While I was looking for a new job a colleague and friend Matt Montelongo who I knew from a previous job reached out to me to tell me about where he was working, Greystone Technology. The way he described the culture and what it was like to work here I knew that I wanted to try and join the team, and the rest as they say is history.”

“As for what makes me want to stay I would have to say the excessive amount of trust and support my peers give me enables me and inspires me to want to do this job well. Another reason is that I am not afraid to lose my job if I ask a question or raise a concern, or respectfully disagree. The psychological safety I feel here is so important to me.”

Tell us about a time when you worked hard to understand a client’s unique needs and went above and beyond their expectations:  “When I initially started here I was tasked with building an internal team that could ensure that our clients’ needs are always met regardless of if someone is sick or on vacation. Three years later and I am proud to say that not only is that team fully up and running but it has enabled other team members here to be able to take personal time without worrying about their clients or checking back in while they are out of the office. They are the team that ensures nothing ever falls through the cracks for our clients, our own extra pair of eyes and ears.”

What’s the most rewarding part of your job: One of the most rewarding parts of my job is helping people. At the end of the day, I love helping people and I get a sense of joy from knowing that everything is running smoothly and it’s a job well done.

What are some of your hobbies outside of work: Any type of gaming, video or board games, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, hiking, reading, and camping, anything sci-fi and I am in.

Tell us one interesting fact about yourself: my Hawaiian heritage traces back to a cousin of queen Liliʻuokalani the last queen of Hawaii.
