This month meet: Michael Zamora

What’s your role: Client Success Manager

How long have you been employed at Greystone Technology: Over 1 year

What made you initially want to work here, and what makes you want to stay:

“Initially I had a desire to get into the IT field I was coming from a banking/legal background and I had my fill of those industries and was looking to try something new. Post Covid felt like a good time to pivot in my career, and so I began looking for an IT position in Colorado, which led me to finding and interviewing with Greystone. I was impressed with the interview process, it was relatively easy compared to other places, and the fact that I got the chance to meet everyone who I would be working with during that process was a big plus for me. It felt both formal and informal at the same time. I appreciated that it felt genuine, and that I did not have to go through an elaborate series of interviews.”

“The reason I have stayed is because I have a sense of belonging here, everything came together. Greystone and it’s people have made me feel like I belong, which has led to me feeling empowered and helping form a DEI committee here, the We Belong Committee.”

“I also love my team, the Client Success team is filled with awesome people, as is the other teams I interact with. Some of the other places I have worked at I felt like a number, at Greystone I feel like a person.”

Tell us about a time when you worked hard to understand a client’s unique needs and went above and beyond their expectations:

“The foundation of Client Success here at Greystone lies in going above and beyond. Since joining Greystone I have had to go above and beyond to dig deep into our clients needs and change directions rapidly as their needs shift. Because I am called on to go above and beyond I appreciate that I have the support of my team and leadership when I need to pull them into help out with a client!”

What’s the most rewarding part of your job:

“Two things, one would be the overall client satisfaction, hearing a client say we love you you’re awesome to our team. That we did a great job is immensely satisfying to me!”

“The second piece would be the work we have done to establish the We Belong Committee and getting started with the volunteering here. It is personally important to me. It is nice to have projects to work on at work that are not always necessarily related to the function of your job. I appreciate that Greystone will give me space to create and build what I would like to see at Greystone. The autonomy is amazing.”

When you think of Greystone’s culture, what 3 words come to mind:

“Belonging, Innovative, Caring.”

What are some of your hobbies outside of work:

“Spending time with my family, I love it when they come to town to visit! Volunteering, hiking and getting back out into nature makes me feel like a kid. I love being able to get outside, I love gardening, and I am a dog dad.”

Tell us one interesting fact about yourself:

“I was the lead singer of a salsa band which took me from the clubs of Mexico City and Cancun to the jazz festival at Notre Dame and all over Texas clubs from Austin to San Antonio up into Dallas and back.”
